The Challenge
The Flagler County Tourism Development Office was preparing for a critical stakeholder meeting just one month away. They needed a compelling 3D animation to showcase their vision for a proposed Visitor and Eco-Discovery Center—a project that was still entirely conceptual.
Their vision included a wide range of indoor and outdoor features: an aquarium, interactive displays, an information desk, a postcard station, and a flexible multi-purpose space for lectures and events. For the exterior, they envisioned amenities such as bike rentals, a butterfly garden, terraced seating, a dock overlooking a lake, a community garden, picnic areas, and installations by local artists.
What they needed was someone who could take this wish list of ideas—without a fully developed design—and bring it to life in a way that would win over stakeholders and secure buy-in for the next phase.
The Process
We began with an on-site meeting to walk the property, capture photos, and better understand the vision and goals. From there, I 3D-modeled the building based on the architect’s CAD plans and began designing the environment around it—translating conceptual ideas into tangible visuals that felt cohesive and inspiring.
Working closely with the Tourism Office, I designed and modeled each component on their wish list, balancing creativity with functionality to ensure the space felt both inviting and educational.
The Outcome
A fully rendered 3-minute animation was delivered on time, visually walking stakeholders through a complete and engaging experience of the proposed center. The animation brought their vision to life, showing how visitors—kids and adults alike—could explore and interact with the space.
