The Challenge
Corrine and her husband had purchased a foreclosure property in Ormond Beach—a great deal financially, but the home itself didn’t reflect their personal style. The location was perfect, though, and Corrine wondered if a thoughtful renovation could transform the house into something that felt more like home.
She also had future plans in mind: creating additional living space for aging parents and upgrading the property for intergenerational living. With lots of ideas and Pinterest boards but no clear way to visualize how it could all come together, she reached out to FarSide Visualization for help.
The Process
I started with an in-person site visit, where I took reference photos and had an in-depth conversation with Corrine about her goals, style preferences, must-haves, and wish-list features. From there, I modeled the existing structure in 3D and began exploring spatial changes—testing ways to add square footage, modernize the exterior, and create a layout that suited both entertaining and everyday life.
Corrine shared her design inspirations, and I translated her vision into three distinct renovation options. But instead of just delivering static images, I invited her to experience the concepts in virtual reality.
The Outcome
Using a VR headset right from her office, Corrine was able to “step inside” each design and experience the future version of her home in full scale. Seeing the transformation firsthand helped her gain confidence in the renovation’s potential and sparked excitement about what was possible.
What started as a single exploration turned into more—Corrine later asked us to help visualize two additional projects: a dream cottage and a master bathroom upgrade.
